Blaze
Picture two courting lovers, dancing, expressing their passion.  The first sets the pace and the partner follows.  Led by their beating hearts, the intensity grows.  Then the dancer stare into each other's eyes, overwhelmed by sensual tension.  A soft melody emerges as they sing of their mutual delight.  As they reach the pinnacle, they pause, just for a member and return to their courtship dance.

Blaze was conceived as a compositional challenge the handbells couldn't play Flamenco.  Well that's partially true, since the nature of bells, where each person takes part of a line, make it extremely difficult to maintain the compàs.  This traditional Flamenco bears starts on 12 with subsequent stresses on 2,7,8, & 10.  Blaze shifts this pattern to start the compàs in 1.  With this extra strong downbeat, each new pattern can make its mark as it enters. 

The piece is currently offered as a quartet.  This version is marked with all of the "tricks" the Velocity uses to play the piece as fast as possible.  Just make sure your ringer with a build-metronome plays Part 3!
